A little stressful since his last few companions were not very obedient I have to step up and be the leader this transfer. Which is gonna be tough. It is already stressful so Pray for me haha. Yeah, people are just freaks everywhere I guess. I am doing really well and I dont have any exciting news for this week, it has been the slowest week I have had in my mission so far. It sucks when the work is slow. But it is okay! I love you and hope that you keep doing well, I will tell elder nambukara that you said that...but it better not be offensive haha I love you !

March 12, 2013 - Letter to Mom
No...I really do like that scripture. It pretty much means that as long as we are being obedient that Jesus Christ will go up to bat for us. It really is my favorite scripture. I am almost done reading the Book of Mormon for the first time all the way through and actually paying attention while I read it. It really is a cool book. I dont think I have ever actually learned anything from that book until my mission. But I am in Alma...towards the end of it. So I am actually about half way done! Which is very exciting for me haha. I still have not gotten the package from the Hathcock's yet. Maybe it got lost in the mail! Yeah that will work. Who are all the priests? That is crazy that all these people are leaving! Where is Becca cope serving?? I did not know that she was gonna serve a mission...that is soo cool! Ryan Payne is going to Washington! How does he feel about that ? ahaha....some of the weirdest kids in this mission I hear are from washington ! Why aren't Brooke and Kelly Morrison writing me ?! What the heck !! And tell Becca Dove to write me too! This girl in college cut my hair the other day who reminded me so much of her! I miss her....go on facebook right now and send her a message with my address and tell her to write me...as well as kelly morrsion and brooke morrison too! Please :) I had interviews with the president this week and that was a pretty spiritual experience! President Hiers is a very great man, and his wife is really great too. Funny story....So the exectutive secretary of president hiers, him and his wife...the keyes is their name...they were in farmington new mexico the other week or so and they met grandma and grandpa kelley and i think michael and becca because their daughter was moving into their ward I think. so I got specially invited to a dinner with them and the president and his wife on friday!! isnt that so cool ?? Mom I said protein powder and all that other stuff too haha !! Don't think you can leave that out...but yeah my new companion is pretty cool. He is just very nice and laid back and respectful. The bad thing is that all of his last companions were not very obedient so I have to whip him back into shape. I think I am the senior companion...which is crazy since I have only been out for like four months...and he has been out for 9. But It is a lot of stress and pressure having to do everything and be the leader. It is tough but I think it will get better soon. Pray for me!! Has Brian left for his mission yet? What about jarred baca, and emilee phelps?
Dad didnt even do his voice last year! So I will imagine it again haha. I will ask hayden to do it but she is soo busy that I dont think that she will do it! She will probably just forget. That is soo funny about hudson. When you video it you better send it to me haha, that wil be so funny to watch! I miss you guys ! Hayden sounds like she is doing awesome too ! I already emailed them about all of what you said so I will keep it at that. I am glad to hear that you and dad are doing well. Are those cabinets done yet ? hahahaha I worked my butt off those last few weeks I was there so you guys better finish that soon haha....that is ghetto if you dont haha. We just had a training from the president of the 70 the other day and it was so good. I wish sometimes you could all be here to learn all the we get to learn about ! I love you guys so much and what is my facebook name? people keep trying to look me up on there and they can't find me! There is this woman named donna knotts who is tammie hathcocks twin sister with blonde hair that is one of the ward missionaries! It is the funniest thing to see. I miss all of them and you guys as well! Thank you for being such an awesome mom. I had to buy new shaving products and a new pillow, So I am out of all my money for this month. But I know that if I am being obedient God will provide a way! I know, I can't wait for spring! I love you guys!!

Hey Mom!
Yeah, it is very crazy that I have already been out here for so long! No matter what happens I am still always excited to be learning and growing each day....life happens, and the beat goes on. Speaking of which....I GET A NEW COMPANION FINALLY!! I haven't met him yet....but I hear he is from New York...and apparently he is Sri Lankan? His name is Elder Nucamarra I think...I am not positive about the name yet. But I hear he is really cool. Hayden would probably think that is funny...because the Sri Lankan people are like Muslims hahaha...and we all know what she thinks about that! But yeah, I will be meeting him tomorrow morning probably. I am also staying in my area. The Rockcliff area in Ogden. Right now we just started teaching this young couple...the wife got baptized 4 years ago but went through a bad divorce and wants to get back to church...she is very less active. but she is awesome...and her husband wants to start taking the discussions from us. The cool thing is that she is a Dental hygeinest and so she gave me free bleach for my teeth!!!! She said she can keep hooking me up! I am so excited about that :) Also we met a guy who is a chiropractor the other day and now he is gonna give us free adjustments today in a few hours!! So many blessings! I love it haha I have not gotten my package from the Hathcocks yet...but I do need to get more stamps though. I sent Rachel her letter a few days ago so she should have it by now. What happens is when transfers come around...the mission office holds all mail until they are over...that way letters dont get sent to the wrong addresses etc.....Yeah, don't worry about those talks, I am getting better and better. But I don't write them so I can't send them to you. I just study all week for my topic...write a few bullet points in case I get lost up there, and all the rest is by the spirit. It works really well! Okay...my favorite scripture is......2 Nephi 6:17-18. "But thus saith the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for the Mighty God shall deliver his covenant people. For thus saith the Lord: I will contend with them that contendeth with thee." " And I will feed them that oppress thee, with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob." It's a pretty awesome scripture!

I wanna start writing some of the Priests in our ward...and get them ready for a mission. I need to be a better example to them! So can you give me all their addresses too?

As far as turning down UCR...none of the elders I have told can believe that she is doing that...but I said that she has fasted and prayed about it and so I am supporting her 100 percent! I am excited for Hayden...it sounds like she is really doing awesome things with her life. I cant wait to hear how she does over the next few years with college and all. UCSD was my other dream school!! She is soo lucky. I am sure that SDSU will pick her up very soon once they see how freakin awesome she is! So that is super cool for her! As for Hudson...he sounds like he is doing great. Dylan Vrooman was very good at water polo. That will be really good for Hudson! That sounds very fun. I wish I stuck with sports like Hayden and Hudson are. He is gonna get a scholarship too!!
I noticed all the workout stuff you must've gotten from work...and you sent it to me!! Are you bailing out of your commitment to me????? hahaha jk. I am really glad you sent me those...they help out with P90X a bunch. The protein would be awesome. Just don't forget the creatine and carbo gain as well. Get it from that good shop too...Dad will know what I am talking about! Well I love you very very much and I can't wait to hear from you again next week. Sorry but I have to hurry up and finish because we have a chiropractors appt in a little and I still have to write everyone else back ! March 5, 2013 - Letter to Dad
Yeah, I have noticed that as I come closer to Christ, I start recognizing him more in me. We have about 6 people we just put on date for baptism too! I am really enjoying my mission so much. Ogden is the best mission in the world....I dont care what anyone says! It is! There are some weird people here though. The other day we were in the gas station and some old man had a younger kid with him and the kid was like ....hey missionaries and we started talking to him and the grandpa was like those mormons are all crap.. The book of Abraham...hahaha yeah right. And so we were just like...ok? And we went up to pay and I started talking to the cashier and tried to set up a lesson to start teaching her the discussions but she was an active memebr already :)...but the little kid was like whats the book of mormon? and so I was like its the coolest book out there, and the old man was like ...The book of mormon is a bunch of bull sh*&! I just started laughing because I couldnt hold it in...and he told me I was a rude little sh*& and then he walked out. The workers were at the gas station and they were like, don't you just love awkward moments? Yeah...that really happened. Crazy Ogdenites! They're everywhere. I just got a letter from Brett and Ady...her advice was super helpful too! Anyway...things are going super good and Melton lives in the basement of his less active sister and her family, and now they are coming back to church! I have to be quick today...because I have to go....but I gave mom all the details on everything else...so make sure she shares that all with you guys !!

February 26, 2013 - letter to Dad
Hi Dad,
That quote is from that Goosebumps movie where the girl is having a hard time at this scary camp...and so the camp director holds up a bunny with a lizard face and says..here, maybe this'll help hahah! Yeah, Melton was baptized and it's crazy because my first day here in the mission I told Elder Leach that we needed to go knock on door number 12 because I felt prompted to do so. Now, 11 weeks later He was baptized and we had such a good turn out! My talks went really well, I try and get the audience energized when I speak and have them do certain things to keep the talk entertaining so they don't all fall asleep when I am speaking. I got some compliments after my talks from different people telling me I did a great job and such. We have about 20 investigators now...we just found 3 new potential investigators through member referrals so that was awesome! Good, I am glad that the new elders are good....ask them what they count the lessons as. I don't think my testimony was that good...all the other imissionaries are so much more spiritual than I am and I can't really even remember what I said haha! But I hope it went well! Okay...have fun painting at the skaggs ! Tell Alton hey...and that I cant believe he is married already ha Have a great week!

February 26, 2013 - letter to Mom
Hi Mom,
Yes!! I was so excited when I got my packages! Especially the pictures and my Ipod! You forgot the titanic soundtrack though :( But that's okay...you can just mail me the cd...like make a copy of it or something and mail me the copy ! The speakers work awesome thank you so much! I didn't get a package from Grandma and Grandpa Kelley, but they did send me a very nice card and $20.00. I thought that was very nice! The Hales also sent me a very nice card with $20.00! I just have so many people that really care about me! I didnt get the address book yet either! I am glad to hear that things are going good with the family. I have only 8 days left to be with Elder Leach and then we will see if I get a super awesome companion! Please pray that I will. Things out here are going good. But it is still snowing...right now as we speak...it was snowing this morning too ! I hate the snow! My favorite thing this week was the baptismal service we had and the talks I gave in church! I eat pretty good...but I hate Jello and they serve that with almost every meal...with this nasty fruit chunks in it. But I ate at a steakhouse because members gave us each $25.00 gift cards to it. It's called Ruby River Steak House! It was the best thing I have had this whole time I have been gone. She didnt tell me about UCR offering the full ride !! That's so awesome!! And Hudson told me how he is doing too! I am happy to hear about all of that! I miss you guys a lot and am proud of all the things you are doing in your life now...Keep it up! I love you all so much and hope you have a great week! I will let you know how transfers go and I will be getting my rice cooker today too! So thats exciting. Hey can you also get Essam Abdullah's address too? Thanks! Maybe have Hayden get that one as well! I am sorry I dont have a lot to talk about today! So I would like some protein from that Nutri Sport store that dad knows the owner and his brother really well...as well as some Carbo-Gain and those creatine tablets! That would be really helpful for me actually! So that would be awesome! Well I love you all !!!

So, I am going to attempt to do a blog for Mason while he is on his mission. Those of you that know me well, are probably laughing right now because I can't even forward an email. It's really ridiculous! I have a few weeks of emails from Mason that I will be posting today. I will TRY to post them on a weekly basis moving forward. Please be patient with me. The last time I did a blog was in 2008.
